five-star safety rating. The Global New Car Assessment Program has awarded this
rating to this car.

The made-in-India Skoda Kushaq is India’s first car to
get a five-star rating in both child and adult safety. It has got 49 points out
of 49 for child occupancy and 29.64 points out of 34 for adult safety. The
crashworthiness of the Kushaq is due to the MQB-A0-IN platform. The
manufacturers developed it, especially for India.
The array of passive and active safety features of the
Kushaq, crash-absorbent technology, and no-compromise, together contribute to
this top rating. Moreover, the company tested the Skoda Kushaq under the latest
crash test protocols of Global NCAP.
These protocols are comparable to the EURO NCAP’s high standards.
Global NCAP introduced the latest protocols for
checking the car’s safety, including side-impact pole protection. Other
protocols include side and frontal impact protection, pedestrian protection,
and electronic stability control. Furthermore, they tested the car for the
front offset barrier at 64 km per hour. For the side barrier, the company
tested it at a speed of 50 km per hour.
They performed the test of pedestrian child head-form
to bonnet at the speed of 40 km per hour. While they tested the pole-side
impact at 29 km per hour. These tests altogether helped Kushaq to attain a
perfect score. Moreover, GNCAP gives
extra points to the cars that perform extra. Consequently, the Kushaq received
these credits because it consists of electronic stability control, seat belt
reminders, and side head protection equipment across all standard variants.
