automobile industry.
The Indian automakers have traveled a long journey
since the seventy-five years after the country’s independence. Despite having
global competitors in the market, the automotive industry of India has secured
its position in terms of technology, safety, and performance. Here we have
mentioned some of the top-selling cars in their respective series.

in the segment. It has 15-inch alloy wheels, a seven-inch infotainment screen,
projector headlamps, and an audio system with eight speakers. The company also
gives a CNG option, which is usually not available in this segment. Probably,
the Tata Tiago is the safest car among its rivals as it has received a
four-star rating by Global NCAP.
Tata Tigor
It is a sub-compact sedan variant of the Tiago. It is
the only car in its segment, which has all-electric, CNG, and petrol
powertrains options.
The Tigor EV provides a range of around 300 km.
It makes the car a green alternative to its ICE
competitors. This car has similar features to that of the Tata Tiago. Moreover, it also has achieved a 4- star rating by the
GNCAP in the crash test.

Currently, it is the best-selling SUV in the Indian
automobile market. In recent months, it has dominated the segment of
sub-compact SUVs in India. It became the first car in India to achieve a 5-star
rating from GNCAP, and that too without any exclusive safety features.
Moreover, it is the only Indian car that is available with electric, diesel,
and turbo-petrol engines. Its electric version gives a range of around 400 km.
Tata Punch
With the production of Tata Punch, the company carved out a new segment. This model has
the style of an SUV, bigger than the Renault Kwid and smaller than the Tata
Nexon. It has received a 5-star safety rating from the Global NCAP.
Mahindra XUV
300
This car is a subcompact SUV. It is the first model of
Mahindra to achieve a five-star rating from the Global NCAP in the crash test.

makes it capable even in the wild. The company has introduced a modification in
the new Thar, which makes it more comfortable. New features include a fixed
roof, a seven-inch infotainment panel, automatic transmission, manual AC, and
both options of diesel and petrol engines.
