Currently, Maruti Suzuki India is the leader in car manufacturing in India. It offers the cheapest CNG cars after Hyundai and Tata.

 

The prices of diesel and petrol are skyrocketing all across the country. The EV infrastructure will still take time to launch on a public scale in India. In such a scenario, the demand for CNG vehicles is increasing. Also, CNG vehicles are cheaper and easy to maintain when compared to combustion engine cars. A wide range of cars is in the market that comes with factory-fitted CNG kits.

Maruti Suzuki - Alto LXI

 

The Alto model of Maruti Suzuki is the cheapest CNG car in India. Its LXI variant comes in INR 4.89 lakh. It has a 3-cylinder NA petrol engine of 796 cc with a CNG kit. With a maximum torque rating of 60Nm, this CNG-petrol powertrain gives a peak power output of 41 PS. The company claims that this car gives a mileage of 31.59 km/kg

 

Maruti Suzuki Eeco – Rs5.88 lakh

 

It is a 5-seater passenger vehicle and comes with a factory-fitted kit of CNG. It also has a petrol engine of 1.2 liter, which produces 85Nm and 65 PS.

 

The Eeco S-CNG gives a mileage of 20.88 km/kg and is certified by ARAI.

 

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso LXI – Rs5.24 lakh onwards

 

It is the second cheapest CNG car after the Alto LXI. The prices start from INR 5.24 lakh, which is quite affordable. The CNG version is equipped with a three-cylinder, 1-liter petro engine, which gives 78Nm and 59 PS. It claims to provide 31.2km/kg of mileage.

 

Tata Tiago XE – Rs.6.09 lakh onwards

 

Recently Tata introduced an affordable CNG car in India, namely Tiago. Its base model comes in the range of INR 6.09 lakh. Its fuel efficiency is 26.49km/kg. This version has a 3-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 1.2 liters. The maximum power output is 73.4 PS with 95Nm.

 

Hyundai Santro Magna – Rs.6.09 lakh onwards

 

It is the cheapest Hyundai car in India. It also comes in two hatchback CNG variants fitted with CNG kits. These are Sportz and Magna, costing INR 6.38 lakh and INR 6.09 lakh respectively. The CNG kit is paired with a 1.1-liter petrol engine and gives out 60 PS with a peak torque of 85.3 Nm.

 

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R LXI – INR 6.34 lakh onwards

 

Recently, Maruti Suzuki India launched a Wagon R hatchback with a mid-life facelift model. The car has 1.2 and 1-liter petrol engines and offers 82.1 Nm and 57 PS. The Wagon R CNG is mated with 5-speed manual transmission and gives a mileage of 34.05km/kg.

 

Hyundai Grand i10 – INR 7.07 lakh onwards

 

The Grand i10 Nios model of the Hyundai offers a wide range of cheap vehicles. The list has a turbo petrol unit, a naturally aspirated petrol engine, a diesel engine, and a bi-fuel CNG-petrol unit. The CNG version is available only with a manual gearbox and gives 69 PS.
