DESCRIPTION TATA Harrier XE

Variants

The variants of the Tata Harrier SUV are broadly divided into six variants - XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, and XZ+.

Market Introduction

Tata Motors launched the Harrier in India in January 2019. Initially launched with a diesel engine and manual transmission, the automatic gearbox was introduced by the carmaker in February 2020.

Engine and Specifications

The Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine that produces 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. It comes mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission. Although there is no AWD version, the Harrier does come with a special ESP system with selectable modes for different conditions – normal, wet, and rough.

The Harrier measures 4,598mm in length, is 1,714mm tall and 1,894mm wide and boasts 2,741mm of wheelbase.

Exterior and Design

The Harrier sports a pair of low-placed headlamps and sleek high-placed DRLs which is allegedly the new trend these days. The profile has flared arches, a sloping roof, and a floating effect on the D-pillar which defines the character of the Harrier. At the rear, it gets sleek yet sharp LED tail lamps and a sculpted tailgate.

Interior and Features

The 8.8-inch floating infotainment system dominates the dashboard which has a wood-finished insert running across it. The features list of the Harrier includes an eight-way adjustable driver seat with a four-way adjustable co-driver seat, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, electric ORVMs, cooled storage box, an electric sunroof, and many practical storage places all around.

Colours

There are five exterior shades to choose from – Calypso Red, Camo Green, Orcus White, Daytona Grey, and Oberon Black. A contrast black roof can also be opted with Orcus White and Calypso Red.

Seating Capacity

The Tata Harrier has a seating layout to accommodate five occupants.

Rivals

The rivals of the Tata Harrier in the SUV segment include the MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, and the Kia Seltos.
