The new Volkswagen Taigun was launched in India on 23 September, 2021.

Engine and specification:

The two petrol motors available on the Volkswagen Taigun include a 115bhp/175Nm 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, TSI petrol engine and a 148bhp/250Nm 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, TSI petrol unit. While a six-speed manual unit is standard, a six-speed torque-converter automatic unit and a seven-speed DSG unit are offered as options.

Exterior design:

The Volkswagen Taigun’s nose is characterised by a two-slat grille that’s heavily adorned by chrome inserts and sharp LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. The bumper’s busy design highlights the contemporary styled fog lights, thick chrome inserts on both the front and rear bumpers, along with brushed aluminium faux skid plates. Also adding zest to the entire package are the 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and an integrated spoiler.

Interior and features:

The insides of the Taigun carry Volkswagen’s typical theme with a dual-tone layout flaunting a sharp-looking dash with loads of silver trim around a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto) and an eight-inch fully digital instrument cluster. There’s an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and wireless charging. Regarding safety equipment, the Taigun comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, hill-hold control, and multi-collision brakes.

Colours:

The Volkswagen Taigun is offered in the following five colours: Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Candy White, and Reflex Silver.
